Inclusive Playground in Bird Habitat in Philadelphia, USA

Hidden behind the leaves of FDR Park in Philadelphia is Anna C. Verna Playground, which opened its doors October 2023. The playground named after Philadelphia's first and only female City Council President features truly amazing custom-made play equipment by Berliner.

One of the most impressive pieces of the playground is the Megaswing, boasting 22 different spots and all kinds of swings. This breathtaking play equipment covers a large part of the playground.

The two custom-made towers themed after birdhouses are connected via a Net Tunnel. This allows for the young guns to have a chase above the ground! While the larger tower ist designed for teens and adults, the smaller tower offers a space to retreat and explore for the younger kids.

The smaller birdhouse tower can also be entered through a tunnel from the side, thus allowing people in wheelchairs to reach the tower which is easier to climb.
