Greenline Park, Utah – Lunia as an Iconic Landmark in the New Utah City Development
Located on the shores of Utah Lake in Vineyard, Utah City is currently being developed as a major project spanning approximately 283 hectares. Since 2023, new urban structures featuring a wide range of recreational and social spaces have been taking shape, with Greenline Park serving as one of its central components.
At the heart of the park lies an iconic playground concept that combines movement, architecture, and innovative design. The aim is to create a public space that not only encourages play but also acts as a visual and identity-defining landmark for the entire park.
The centrepiece of the installation is our Lunia climbing balloon – an approximately 10-metre-high play sculpture that marks the highest point of Greenline Park. The structure is complemented by a variety of Terranos elements, including Chessboard Cubes, Horizontal Climbing Ropes, Loop Ropes, and additional versatile climbing and movement features. A stainless-steel slide measuring more than nine metres in length adds another dynamic dimension to the play experience.
“By version 26, with other manufacturers, we were still searching for something iconic,” said Flagship Home’s Director of Planning and Design, Bronson Tatton. “Then we saw the cover of a Berliner brochure and knew immediately, I said, ‘We should do that balloon.’”
Particular emphasis was placed on inclusion and different levels of use: the design offers a wide range of challenges – from the impressive ascent within the balloon to play and climbing elements at ground level.
After dark, Lunia reveals an entirely new side: with 32 integrated LED lights, the structure becomes a glowing landmark within the park. The balloon illuminates the surrounding area and quickly became a talking point.
The park officially opened on 18 April 2026. The developers hope that the combination of innovative design and diverse play opportunities will establish the park as a regional attraction.
