Children’s Museum of the East End (New York)
To celebrate the New York Children’s Museum of the East End’s (CMEE) 20th anniversary, the decision was made to give the playground a complete transformation. Partnering with SPEC, StudioLudo, LaGuardia Design Group, and Hampton Yards, the space was reimagined as a vibrant, welcoming environment filled with bold primary colours: Cosmo Yellow, Carmine Red, and Light Blue, that blend beautifully with the surrounding landscape. The new playground offers something for everyone, even parents!
Adventurous kids can scale the Greenville Combi.964, whether by climbing up the beige rope of the Triple Boo or tackling the longer route via the Terranos path connecting a Hand-Over-Hand Ladder, swaying bridge, and other obstacles to make their way to speed down the stainless steel slide or gleaming white Fast Lane Slide.
For younger children, the Greenville Combi.102 that combines two Triis by a suspension bridge will provide a challenge for little ones to make their way to the Fast Lane Slide and plenty of opportunities for climbing and exploration!
Nature-inspired play also takes centre stage, with a balancing challenge across tree-stump paths and colorful post “trees” under our Leaves canopy that blends seamlessly into the surrounding woods.
For kids who prefer swinging and spinning, the playground features the Disk XL, where groups of friends can spin, laugh, and play together. And of course, no playground would be complete without swings! The Swingo brings three bays of excitement, with two toddler swings, two belt seats, and a Cloud 9 nest swing that allows multiple kids to swing side by side.
This redesigned playground celebrates CMEE’s 20 years of inspiring play and learning, a joyful space where children of all ages and their families can come together.
