In 2019, a large playground covering a surface of approximately 15.000 m² was created in Osnabrück, Germany. The goal was to make it attractive for families taking a day trip across the city. The older children can climb to the playhouse located at the top of the PentaQuii using the Pentagode’s spatial net. From there on, they can reach the Trii which is 4 metres in height and slide down the curved tube slide one tunnel ahead.
Additionally, there is a vast playing area, which was designed specifically inclusive. Thus, contact between children of different abilities is enhanced. The net swing, that is easily accessible because of its low entry height, offers a possibility for children with physical impairment to play with others.
In that area you can also find a painting wall and a small house with diverse play panels, which support motoric and auditory development. Furthermore, they are accessible from underneath for people using a wheelchair.
In the toddler’s area, the youngest can climb up the ramp on one side to enter the playhouse Roo and can slide down on the other side. Sand tables and a play panel encourage role play and thus, communication between the children.
The key to getting the VIP Swing into motion is communication and teamwork. More Swings round out the playing experience.
