Geoparc de Percé – a special kind of an indoor playground

On the 22nd of June, the Geoparc de Percé in Quebec, Canada opened the gates to the new indoor playground: a huge, three-dimensional rope-net landscape in the shape of a water world! The idea of the design, which stems from the minds of the architects Groupe BC2 from Montreal and which was implemented through the collaboration with Berliner Seilfabrik, was to imitate the geographic surroundings. As the town Percé lies directly on the eastern coast of Canada, where the landscape is massively characterised by the steep cliffs and impressive rock islets, a correspondingly diverse and unique net landscape emerged.

Margaret Mahy Family Playground eröffnet in Christchurch, Neuseeland

With the opening of Margaret Mahy Playground in Christchurch, New Zealand, June 25th 2016, one of the largest and most modern playgrounds in the southern hemisphere has arisen. It was built after the major earthquake that struck New Zealand in February 2011, which affected Christchurch in particular. The project was meaningful for all those involved, but in particular for the area’s inhabitants and visitors to the playground.

Aventura – Europe’s longest playground structure

It begins in a shaky fashion at the foot of Bromberg Hill. A large access net leads up to a treehouse-like tower. And this is just the beginning – the beginning of Europe’s longest climbing structure. Meandering 168 metres up the hill are a great variety of tunnels and bridges, balancing elements and rubber mats, which pass through multiple towers along the way.

Berliner builds the biggest spatial net for Swarovski Crystal Worlds’ play tower

The Swarovski Crystal Worlds is one of Austrian’s most visited tourist attractions. The 3,5 hectares park stretches in a gorgeous setting close to Swarovski’s headquarters in Wattens. With a total investment of 34 million Euros the amusement park is currently being significantly expanded. With 7,5 hectares the area will be more than doubled. Besides the crystalline park landscape, the expansion of the family and children areas takes center stage. Including the play tower – a five story play house made out of glass.

Berliner Seilfabrik becomes ISO 9001 certified.

On the 24th of February, the final Audit for certifying Berliner Seilfabrik GmbH & Co. to the ISO 9001 standard took place. Berliner Seilfabrik passed the certifying process without any major or minor nonconformities.  “Thanks to all employees and the Quality Manager for their work on getting certified. Now we will focus on improving continuously and become an even better company”, says Karl Köhler, Managing owner.
